Today was the last day of our mountain adventure, for tomorrow we fly back to Shanghai and then I fly back to Chicago. What an extraordinary day it was!

which is one of the largest Buddhist monasteries in the region. It was begun in 1679, but burned down 40 years ago and is being rebuilt by the

700 monks who live there. It is beautifully decorated and filled with many buddhas, pictures, sculptures and books.

to get to the main hall-but what a beautiful view of the countryside.
